Virginia Roberts King

March 20, 1921 — June 11, 2008

Virginia Roberts (Nelson) King passed away June 11, 2008. She was a native Atlantan, and proud to be from the South. She was preceded in death by precious husbands, Robert L. Nelson, and Jimmie L. King. She joins all of her immediate family in Heaven. Virginia retired with 30 years of service from Chevrolet Motor Division, Regional Office, as secretary to the Regional Director of Customer Service. She also worked for Saginaw Steering Gear Division (GMC) before joining Chevrolet. She served as Past Matron of Georgia Chapter #127 O.E.S. twice. She was a member in good standing. Virginia was Past Grand Lecturer of The Grand Grace Chapter #551, Chapter of Georgia O.E.S., 1954-1955. Further accomplishments include: Grand Representative to the State of Michigan, Past Worthy Advisor of Grant Park Rainbow Assembly #4, and Past Mother Advisor of Georgia, Rainbow Assembly #79. Virginia was a member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church. She is survived by nieces, Michele T. White and Diane R. Locklair, as well as nephews, James R. Roberts, Jr. and Jerome F. Roberts. Her great nieces and nephews include: Jennifer R. Ray, James R. Roberts, III, Ted R. Roberts and Bryan L. Roberts. Extended family members will cherish her memory always.  Friends will be received Sunday, June 15th from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at A. S. Turner & Sons, 2773 North Decatur Rd., Decatur, GA 30033. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery, 1173 Cascade Rd., S.W., Atlanta, GA 30311 at 2:30 P.M.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Oak Grove United Methodist Church, 1722 Oak Grove Rd., Decatur, GA 30033.
