W. Larry Lewis

W. Larry Lewis, 84, of Decatur, passed away on January 2, 2013 in Duluth, GA.Larry was born on November 3, 1928, along with his twin brother Harry, to Benjamin and Hulda (Lord) Lewis in Atlanta, GA. He graduated from Tech High School in Atlanta, and worked at Gulf Life Insurance Company for 32 years as a President's Club agent. He was also a National Guard Veteran. Larry was a past deacon at Woodlawn Baptist Church, and currently a member of Avondale First Baptist Church. He enjoyed working in his garden, tinkering with cars, and watching sports on TV. His greatest treasure, however, was the love of his life for 59 years, his wife Norma. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and three brothers. In addition to his loving wife Norma, he is survived by daughters Valerie Hislip of Albuquerque, NM, Vicki Jacob (husband Ed) of Snellville, GA, brother Donald R. Lewis (wife Helen), granddaughters Kimberly Hutchinson (husband Austin), Katie Jacob, and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 4, 2013, 2 pm in the Chapel of A.S. Turner and Sons, Decatur, GA with Rev. Clay Bowden officiating. Burial to follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held Thursday, January 3, 2- 4 pm and 6 - 8 pm at A.S. Turner and Sons, Decatur. Online condolences can be given at www.asturner.com.
