Walter Edward Martin

Walter E. "Ed" Martin, age 90 of Decatur, GA passed away of natural causes on January 6, 2016. He was born in 1925 in McCormick, SC and grew up in Lincolnton, GA. Ed was a WWII U.S. Army veteran, a graduate of the University of GA, and a lifelong GA Bulldog fan. He taught Biology and coached the football team at Lincoln County High School in 1950 and 1951, and was the former President of Chas. S. Martin Dist. Co., Inc. in Atlanta, GA. Surviving Ed are his loving wife of 69 years, Anne Cofer Martin; daughter and son-in-law, Carla Martin Maddux and Scott Maddux; grandson, Christopher Davidson; sister, Elaine Martin Schmidt; nieces, Lucy Schmidt Sugg, Bonnie Schmidt Rodgers and Anne Freeman Platt; and nephew, James Freeman.
