William Charles Mcfee, Jr.

William Charles McFee, Jr. was born in Atlanta, Georgia on December 28, 1954, to Mr. & Mrs. William C. McFee, Sr. He passed away on March 11, 2005, while running. He grew up in Atlanta, attended Fernbank Elementary School and graduated from the Westminster Schools in 1972. A 1975 graduate of Vanderbilt University, he earned a combined Law and Business degree from Emory University in 1979. He practiced real estate law with Schulten, Ward & Turner in Atlanta. He was chair of the Real Property Section of the State Bar of Georgia and was an active member of the Glenn Memorial United Methodist Church. He sat on the Board of the Atlanta Young Singers of Callanwolde and was also active in the Decatur-DeKalb Bar Association. Bill was a loving husband and father. He was also a wonderful son, brother, friend, neighbor and colleague. He was an enthusiastic member of the Virginia Highlands Track Club and the Atlanta Hash House Harriers and participated in many races, including half marathons. He enjoyed flying, amateur photography, skiing and travel. He was a savvy investor and will be fondly remembered for his legendary frugality. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Ellen Webb McFee; daughter, Margaret Ellen McFee; mother, Edith Stover McFee; sisters Zoe M. Hicks of Atlanta and Edith M. Lycke of Dallas,TX. Visitation will be held from 7:00-9:00 PM on Sunday, March 13 at A. S.Turner and Sons, 2773 North Decatur Rd, Decatur, GA. Funeral services will take place Monday, March 14 at 3:00 PM at Glenn Memorial United Methodist Church, 1660 North Decatur Rd, Decatur with a reception to follow in the Church Fellowship Hall. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Atlanta Young Singers of Callanwolde, 980 Briarcliff Rd, Atlanta, GA. 30306 or the Paideia School Scholarship Fund, 1509 S. Ponce de Leon Ave., Atlanta, GA 30307. A.S. Turner & Sons.
