William E. Shepard

Mr. William E. Shepard, 80, of Atlanta died Friday, February 15, 2008. He was born in Abbeyville, GA to William Shepard and Bessie Underwood Shepard. Mr. Shepard served in the Army Air Force during World War II. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Atlanta, the Faith Sunday School Class and Son's of Thunder Prayer Group. Mr. Shepard also volunteered at the Missionary Care Center. He is survived by his wife, Nell Shepard; son, Barry Shepard; grandson, Billy Shepard; granddaughter, Katie Shepard; Patti Shepard; sisters, Madgeline English, and Alda Parker; Sarah Stagg; brothers, Harville Shepard and Fred Shepard. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, February 18, 2008 in the Chapel of the First Baptist Church of Atlanta with Dr. Scott G. Downing officiating. Interment will be at 4:00 P.M. at Macon Memorial Park, Macon, GA. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2970 Clairmont Rd., Suite 840, Atlanta, GA 30329 or to your favorite charity. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. at A. S. Turner & Sons.
