William James Jenkins, Jr.

August 4, 1921 — April 7, 2005

Mr. William James "Bill" Jenkins, Jr. of Decatur died Thursday, April 7, 2005. He was a Battalion Chief for the City of Atlanta Fire Department for 37 years. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean War. Mr. Jenkins was a member of the E.A. Minor Lodge #603 F.&A.M. He is preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Margaret Jenkins. He is survived by his daughter, Bobbie Reagin of Monroe, GA; son, James Powell Jenkins of Chattanooga, TN; sisters, Mildred King of Decatur, Mary Lynn Robinson of Snellville, GA; grandchildren, Jason and Tyler Reagin, and Ronnie Jenkins; one niece; and several nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 9th in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons with Dr. Ted Boland and Pastor Tyler Reagin officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Friday evening at A. S. Turner & Sons.
