Winifred W. Bandy of Lilburn, GA died Sunday, November 4, 2012, at KingsBridge Retirement Center. She was born January 24, 1917 in Vienna Georgia to James Madison Woodward and Buford Bryan Woodward. She was a member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church, Phi Mu Sorority and the American Association of University Women. Winifred graduated with a B.S. degree from Florida Southern College and worked for many years as an X-ray technician. In 1983, she married Dr. O. S. Bandy and they were married for 19 years before his death in 2002. Dr. Bandy's family can never express their gratitude for the devotion and self-sacrificing care she provide for him during their marriage. She is survived by her step-daughters, Ruth B. Howard of Ocala, FL, Mary Bandy Frahm and her husband, Bob of Lilburn, GA, Elizabeth Bandy (Beth) Rymer and her husband, Larry of Franklin, NC; step-son, Lynn S. Bandy and his wife, Peggy of Huntersville, NC; several nieces, nephews cousins, step-grandchildren and great step-grandchildren and several great great step-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 PM Saturday, November 10, 2012, at the Parlor of Oak Grove United Methodist, 1722 Oak Grove Road, Decatur, GA 30033. Rev. Louis Miller and Reverend Gregory Smith will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 1:30 PM prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may send contributions to Oak Grove United Methodist Church, 1722 Oak Grove Road, Decatur, GA 30033.
