Winona Macon Evans

Mrs. Winona Evans, 82, of Stone Mountain died Wednesday, May 20, 2009.  She was born January 7, 1927 to John Wesley Macon and Lena Mae Folks Macon.  A loving mother and homemaker, Mrs. Evans was a long time member of Avondale First Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Preston Evans; sons, Ken Evans and wife Terri of Atlanta, Randy Evans and wife Leslie of Grayson; brother, Larry Macon of Montgomery, AL; eight grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.  Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 23rd at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons with Dr. J. Truett Gannon officiating.  Interment will follow at Eternal Hills Memory Gardens.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, 1925 Century Blvd., N.E., Suite 10, Atlanta, GA  30345-3315.   A.
