Andrea Hyde (Hartzell) Glass, aged 66, of Ponte Vedra, Florida, passed away peacefully at home on June 21st, 2026, after a long and courageous journey with illness, sustained by her faith and surrounded by her family.
Born on May 14th, 1960, in Concord, Massachusetts, Andrea was the third child of David and Ann Hartzell. Shew grew up in a busy, social family, and she became proficient in the values her parents instilled in her - generosity, sociability, and Christian faith.
Andrea excelled in school and was a talented athlete. She went on to St Lawrence University, and later moved to the Atlanta area, where she met her husband, Charles. They were married for 42 years and raised their children, Victoria and Jordan, in the Acworth, GA area.
Andrea worked in business development. She was excellent at finding resources for any need. She had a remarkable gift for turning challenges into opportunities. Where others might hesitate, she stepped forward with confidence and found solutions with ease. She had a natural ability to organize, plan, and make things happen - whether it was the next family gathering, a weekend trip, or a surprise celebration. Her enthusiasm and creativity kept life full of anticipation, and she delighted in surprising Charles with plans she had quietly arranged until the very last moment.
First and foremost, Andrea's life was guided by her spiritual values and a lifelong commitment to her Christian faith. She always found time to go to church and talk to her friends about God. She cherished staying connected with those friends, and delighted in meeting new ones, and found great joy in traveling and experiencing the world around her.
Andrea is survived by her husband Charles; her daughter, Victoria Clark of Decatur, Georgia (and her husband, Byron), her son, Jordan Glass of Costa Mesa, California; and her two granddaughters, Nora and Maeve. She is also survived by her three siblings, Debbie Hartzell, David Hartzell, and Beth Wong, along with their families, and a large circle of extended family members, all of whom she kept close to her heart.
A celebration of life will be held on June 29, 2026, at 2 PM at A.S Turner and Sons, 2273 North Decatur Road, Decatur, GA, 30033. Visitation to begin at 1 PM.
