We gather today to celebrate the life of Andrew Preble Simmons, Sr., known and loved by so many as Andy, who was born in Jacksonville, Florida on April 15, 1952. At the age of 74, Andy left this world having lived a life marked by deep faith, steadfast love, and quiet strength.

For 56 years, Andy shared his life with his beloved wife, Janis. Together they built a home rooted in commitment, laughter, and unwavering devotion. They raised four remarkable children, Scott Simmons (Jill), Lisa Hall, Mandy Allen (JJ), and Andrew Simmons (Christy). Andy is also survived by his brother, William B. Simmons (Dana). He delighted in his grandchildren Bailey Hill (Hunter), Byron Simmons (Romina), Isabella Bateman (Grayson), Lily Hall, Joshua Allen (Bailey), Harrison Allen, Taylor Simmons, and Ansley Simmons and nephew Will Simmons (Olivia) and niece Brooklyn Hand (Kevin). Andy's love for his family was constant and clear. He cherished every moment with them and poured into their lives the same faith and hope that guided his own.

Andy's greatest treasure was his relationship with Jesus Christ. After accepting Christ into his heart, his life was transformed. With an open and sincere spirit, he shared the gospel freely with anyone who would listen. He lived as a beautiful example of faith and courage-believing the best, hoping the best, and pointing others toward the same saving grace that shaped him. If Andy were standing here today, he would gently but earnestly ask each of us: "Where is your relationship with Jesus Christ?"

In the business world, Andy was a respected leader and mentor. With razor-sharp problem-solving skills and a generous heart, he helped men and women grow their companies-some into Fortune 500 enterprises. For decades he owned and operated Cornerstone Medical, Inc, a company with regional offices in the Southeast that provided in-home medical care. Through Cornerstone, Andy served others while serving God, combining practical compassion with a clear sense of purpose.

Andy's faith, his love for his family, and his example of integrity continue to live on in those he touched. We are grateful for the years we shared with him and for the lasting imprint he left on our lives.

Thank you for joining us today as we honor and celebrate the life of Andrew Preble Simmons, Sr.-a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, faithful servant, and man of God.

A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. at Life Center Church, 2690 Mount Vernon Road, Dunwoody, GA 30338.
