Aryc Wesley Mosher, a compassionate and dedicated individual, passed away on July 1, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of service and impact. He was born on April 16, 1967. Aryc, along with his beloved spouse Kenneth Ray Morris, had been residents of Avondale Estates, GA for 15 years, creating a home filled with love and shared memories.
Education played a significant role in Aryc's life. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from Michigan State University and went on to earn a Master's in Public Health, specializing in International Epidemiology, from the University of Michigan.
Aryc's career spanned across various continents and organizations, reflecting his commitment to making a positive difference in the world. He began his journey as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Mali, West Africa, where he selflessly contributed to the betterment of local communities. Subsequently, he served as a Country Director in Ghana, West Africa. Aryc then returned to the United States, working as an Assistant Director at The Carter Center in Atlanta, GA, before joining the esteemed Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation in Seattle, WA as a Program Officer. He further shared his expertise as a consultant at Sight Savers International in the United Kingdom and the International Trachoma Initiative in Atlanta, GA. In his final role, Aryc served as a Senior Technical Advisor at USAID in Washington, DC, where he made significant contributions to global development.
Aryc's commitment to service extended beyond his professional career. He actively participated in community initiatives, lending a helping hand to those in need. He generously volunteered his time and expertise to various organizations, making a lasting impact on the lives he touched. Aryc also served as the Vice-Chair of the Atlanta Pride Board, an organization that he held dear to his heart.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Aryc cherished his family dearly. He leaves behind his devoted spouse Kenneth Ray Morris, whom he shared 18 meaningful years with, including seven years of marriage. Aryc is survived by his mother Sheri Merritt and stepfather Arthur Merritt. He was preceded in death by his father, David Wesley Mosher. Aryc's memory will be cherished by his brother Mark Mosher, sister-in-law Tammy Mosher, and their four nieces. He is also survived by his sister Michelle Chrome, brother-in-law Matthew Chrome, and their three nieces and one nephew.
Aryc Wesley Mosher touched the lives of many, both near and far. He will be deeply missed by his extended family, numerous friends, devoted colleagues, and grateful neighbors.
May his soul find eternal peace, and may his extraordinary contributions continue to inspire us all.
A visitation will be from 6 PM to 8 PM on July 7, 2023 at AS Tuner Funeral Home and Crematory. A funeral service will be held on July 8, 2023 at 11 AM at AS Turner Funeral Home & Crematory. Family, friends, colleagues, and community members are invited to join in remembering and honoring his remarkable journey.
