Barbara Ann Kelley Green (91) was born March 15, 1931 to Marion Caleb Kelley and Ethleleen Ermine Rowan Kelley in Atlanta, GA. She was the fourth child of eleven children.
She died peacefully at Emory Decatur Hospital in Decatur, GA on March 31, 2022.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother as well as two grandchildren, Matthew Charles McKibben and Jonathan Joseph McKibben. Older brothers Charles Kelley, Robert Kelley, and Frank Kelley; Older sister, Sarah Corley; Younger brother, Patrick Kelley. And was also preceded by her ex-husband Clarence Thomas Green.
Barbara Ann is survived by her daughter, Miriam Renee McKibben (Jim) of Stone Mountain, GA and son, Clarence Alan Green (Denise) of Loganville, GA.; Sisters Betty Lovin, Doris Ellenburg (Dewey), Gwendolyn Taylor (Walter), and Katherine Allen (Donnie); and Brother James Kelley; Grandchildren Kim Green, Curt Green (Nicole), and Kelley Sue Hardin; Great-Grandchildren Trenten Green (25), Olivia Green (22), Darian Abbott (21), Avery Abbott (18), Matthew Hardin (18), and Lillarose Hardin (14); and Great-Great-Grandchildren Everleigh Segars (1) and JT Green (10 mos).
Barbara Ann was a proud employee of A.S. Turner & Son’s in Decatur, GA for over fifty years. She was a deserologist, hair stylist, a lover of music, dancer, gardener, writer, chef, comedian, lover of people, community, and chocolate ice cream connoisseur. Barbara was also known by her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and many more as “Hello”. When she and her ex-husband, Clarence started their family they lived in Decatur, GA, in the Medlock neighborhood. Later, moved to the Avondale Estates area, in the Dunaire subdivision. She would often attend Avondale Estates First Baptist Church. In her late years she lived at Northlake Gardens in Tucker, GA. Due to the pandemic she resided with her daughter, Miriam in Stone Mountain, GA.
To celebrate Barbara Ann’s life, we would be forever grateful if you left your fondest memory. There will be an opportunity at visitation at 12PM on Tuesday, April 5, 2022. Funeral to follow at 1PM in the chapel. Graveside will be private.
May Hello’s laughter forever remain in our hearts and a vision of her smile forever in our minds. The pep in her step is what most of us remember her by. She rarely stood, but rather danced through life.
