Barbara Baldwin Richards

Barbara Baldwin Richards died on January 7, 2025, after a brief illness.

She was preceded in death by her parents Sarah "Ruthie" Baldwin (nee Humphries) and Otto Baldwin, husband Robert and grandson Pili Richards. Barbara is survived by her daughter Dawn (Tim), son John (Tomoyo), granddaughter Ai (Zenas) and great grandson Luce.

An Atlanta Native, Barbara graduated from Decatur Girls High School in 1951. She attended Georgia State for several years before marrying Robert "Bob" Richards on March 17, 1953, when both attended the University of Georgia. Bob's service in the Marine Corps then took them to Beaufort, SC and Quantico, VA where their daughter Dawn was born. After Bob's service in the Marine Corps, they returned to Atlanta where their son John was born. After raising her children, she enjoyed working part time at Lord and Taylor.

Barbara enjoyed walking in Druid Hills, especially Fernbank Forest. She collected antiques and books, studied architecture and spent many years researching family genealogy. She and Bob traveled widely around the Southeast and took their granddaughter from Japan to Washington DC and London, England.

Services will be private with interment in the family plot in the Bethel UMC cemetery in Stockbridge, GA. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests making a donation to your favorite charity.
