Obituary - Betty Curlee
Betty Curlee of Stone Mountain, Georgia, passed away peacefully at home with her husband of 65 years by her side.
Born to Lewis and Vera Triplett of North Wilkesboro, North Carolina, Betty was a graduate of Lenoir-Rhyne University.
Betty shared a loving marriage with her husband, Reginald Curlee, for 65 years. Together they raised two sons: Timothy S. Curlee and his wife, Staci, of Sarasota, Florida; and Mark D. Curlee, who preceded her in death.
She was a devoted grandmother to Colleen Curlee and Jared Melament of Nashville, Tennessee; Kathleen Curlee of Asheville, North Carolina; and Matthew Curlee of Athens, Georgia. She was also a cherished step-grandmother to Elaine Hammond of Tampa, Florida.
Betty is also survived by her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Joe and Helen Curlee of Milledgeville, Georgia; her niece, Melissa Berger and her husband, Dr. Bruce Berger, of Albany, Georgia; and her nephew, Chris Triplett and David Lowe of St. Simons, Georgia.
A faithful Christian, Betty was an active member of Peachtree Road United Methodist Church in Atlanta, where she served on the Altar Guild and was a member of the Blazers Sunday School Class. She was also a past president of the Morning Glories Garden Club and participated in several book clubs throughout her life.
A funeral service will be held in Salisbury, North Carolina, at the family cemetery. A memorial service at Peachtree Road United Methodist Church will be announced at a later date.
Betty was a quiet and loving woman who treasured God, family, and life. Her kindness, faith, and gentle spirit touched all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered, but her loved ones find comfort in knowing that she now rests in the hands of God-
