Bettye Smith McPherson, 76, of Decatur, GA passed away Friday, February 27, 2009. She is preceded in death by her husband, Marvin L. McPherson of Decatur and her mother, Catherine M. Hibo of Atlanta. Mrs. McPherson is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Pamela McPherson Sekulow (Jay) of Virginia Beach, VA and Sharon McPherson Hixson (Gary) of Stone Mountain, GA. Mrs. McPherson had five grandchildren, Jordan Sekulow of Virginia Beach, VA, Logan and Amanda Sekulow of Franklin, TN, Trey and Anne Hixson of Overland Park, KS and Ben and Laney Hixson of Stone Mountain, GA; and great grandson, Jack Bradley Hixson of Overland Park, KS. Mrs. McPherson lived in Decatur, Georgia for 51 years. She was a 1950 graduate of Grady High School and a member of Rehoboth Baptist Church, Tucker, GA. She was the first office administrator, including executive assistant radio phone screener and bookkeeper for the American Center for Law & Justice. Family and friends are invited to attend the celebration of her life at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, March 1, 2009 in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons with Rabbi Scott Sekulow of Beth Adonai, Tucker, GA officiating. Interment at Arlington Memorial Park, Sandy Springs, GA. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Sunday at A. S. Turner & Sons.
