Listen to Obituary

Beverly Jane (Doyle) Thomas, 80, passed away peacefully at AG Rhodes Nursing Home on October 25, 2026. Beverly was born in Portage, Wisconsin on May 23, 1946, to Robert and Dorothy Doyle. A fashion lover from a young age, she attended beautician school after graduating from high school in Portage. Beverly started dating Larry Thomas in high school and they married in 1966 while Larry was studying civil engineering at the University of Wisconsin. They moved to Wyoming and had two daughters, Machelle (born 1968) and Tracy (born 1970).

For many years, Beverly's full-time occupation was raising her daughters. She was a caring mother who had great pride for her daughters' successes. When the children were young, she took particular joy in creating unique Halloween costumes and establishing holiday traditions. She loved entertaining and decorating their home for special occasions. Some of her happiest memories were made enjoying the outdoors, especially at the family's cabin in Colorado. The cabin was a special place for gathering, enjoying nature, and making lasting memories with friends and family. Whether camping, skiing, hiking, or simply sharing meals, Beverly treasured the opportunity to bring loved ones together. Her quick wit and lighthearted spirit were infectious. Her empathy made those around her feel seen, respected and understood.

Beverly and Larry lived in Wisconsin, Wyoming, Colorado, California and Illinois. At age 50, Beverly was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. As the disease progressed, she and Larry moved to Atlanta, Georgia to be closer to their eldest daughter. In 2018, Beverly joined the A.G. Rhodes Wesley Woods community, where she enjoyed social activities, music, horticultural therapy, reading, phone conversations, and time with friends.

Beverly will be remembered as a devoted wife and mother, a loving grandmother of three, and a compassionate woman whose humor and warmth touched everyone around her. She is survived by her husband: Larry Thomas; her daughters: Machelle (Thomas) Pardue of Atlanta, Georgia and Tracy (Thomas) Mundt of Highlands Ranch, Colorado; her grandchildren: Emily Pardue, Thomas Pardue, and Anna Mundt; and her siblings: Peter Doyle, Carol (Doyle) Ziehmke, and Mary (Doyle) Miller.

A private celebration of life will take place on November 16 at 10am ET at A.S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home in Decatur, Georgia. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes contributions to Georgia Hospice Care through the Carnation Foundation Online Giving. https://carnationfoundation.org/ This is in honor of Beverly's volunteer work with Hospice and in gratitude for the care they provided at the end of her life.

The family thanks you for your support and asks that you share this memorial with anyone who was touched by Beverly's life. Please visit her online tribute page at Legacy.com to leave a message of condolence or share a favorite memory.
