Brian Arnold Lucas

Brian Arnold Lucas, 45, of Decatur, died August 20, 2013. He was a graduate of Briarcliff High School and Georgia State University. Brian served his country in the U. S. Navy with the Blue Angels. Recently he followed his passion to help at the Shepherd Center in Atlanta, where, on April 20, 2013, Brian received WXIA Channel 11's prestigious Community Service Award for his volunteer work. He is survived by his parents, David and Carol McDonald Lucas; sisters and brothers-in-law, Amanda and Joel Darr and Anita and Lionell Dykstra; aunts and uncles, Claudia and Tommy Earnest and Steve and Penny Lucas; nieces, Madeline and Melanie Darr; nephew, Lucas Dykstra; cousins, Troy Earnest, Carrie Tabb, Geoff Lucas and Scott Lucas. The funeral service will be held 1 p.m., Saturday August 24, in the chapel of A. S. Turner and Sons with Rev. Ben Rose officiating. Interment with military honors at Arlington Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Shepherd Center, 2020 Peachtree Rd, Atlanta GA 30309.
