Brian Thomas Wilson

Brian Thomas Wilson, who was born on April 4, 1957 in Augusta, Georgia, passed away on August 7, 2026 at Winship at Emory Midtown Hospital after a valiant year and a half battle with cancer. He was 69 years old. Brian was the cherished son of the late Norman Arleigh and Virginia Thomas Wilson and was predeceased by his beloved sister, Carole Moore.

Brian's journey through life was marked by his continued pursuit of learning. He had many varied avocations including aviation, art, reading, sailing, firearms and competitive shooting, gardening, and woodworking, as well as his special love of South Carolina low country marshes. He grew up in Augusta, where he graduated from the Academy of Richmond County in 1975. He went on to attend Augusta College for three and a half years and had several semesters at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. In 1986, Brian married Jane Caskey in a beautiful ceremony in Augusta before moving to Atlanta. Together, they embarked on a remarkable journey of 40 years, filled with love, laughter, and an unbreakable bond of companionship. They were blessed with a daughter, Kathryn Elizabeth (fondly known as Kat), who brought immense joy and pride to Brian's life. After a few years in commercial photography sales, Brian found his greatest joy in life in aviation, flying for Atlantic Southeast Airlines/Delta Connection, Wheels Up, and various private business charter companies. He retired from the airlines only to move on to FlightSafety International, where he taught aviation training in full motion simulators. Brian and Jane were longtime members of Intown Community Church. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, and friend. His kindness and generosity knew no bounds, and he always extended a helping hand to those in need.

Brian's family was his world, and he found great happiness in the company of his loved ones and friends. He is survived by his loving wife, Jane; his daughter Kat and her husband, Gabe; his sister, Virginia Arleigh Mansfield, her husband Thomas, and nieces Virginia (Ginger) and Alana. The family finds solace in the memories of Brian's laughter, wisdom, and enduring love.

A celebration of Brian's life will take place on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Intown Community Church, located at 2059 LaVista Road in Atlanta. Friends and family are invited to gather and honor the remarkable life of a man who touched the hearts of all who knew him. His family finds comfort in knowing that he is now healed and at peace in the presence of his Savior.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that a donation be made in Brian's memory to one of the organizations that were close to his heart: Samaritan's Purse, Greater Atlanta

Christian School, or Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. This gesture of generosity reflects Brian's compassionate spirit and his lifelong commitment to helping others. Brian's legacy will forever be etched in the hearts of those who loved him. His spirit will continue to shine brightly, a beacon of love and hope, guiding those he leaves behind.
