Growing up, Eric played baseball, wrestled, and became a karate black belt and instructor. He attended Clarkson University on an ROTC scholarship and earned his Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. After college, he served in the U.S. Army as an Army Intelligence Officer from 1992-1996 at Fort Huachuca, AZ and Fort Stewart, GA.

He cared deeply about helping others and his legacy lives on in those who loved, cared for, and were positively impacted by him.

Eric is survived by his parents, Charlie and Carolyn Baca; his son, Elliot, his daughter, Maggie, as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins. His son, Sam, passed away in October 2023.
