It is with a heavy heart yet a spirit lifted in joy that we prepare to honor the life of Charles George Economy, who will be remembered with great fondness and admiration. On August 28, 2025, he journeyed from this world at the age of 80, leaving a legacy woven with love, dedication, and integrity.
Born on July 25, 1945, in the vibrant city of Atlanta, Georgia, Charles built a life deeply rooted in his community. He thrived in the commercial real estate industry as a self-employed professional, where his work was a true reflection of his character-committed, steadfast, and kind. Predeceased by his father, George Charles Economy, and mother, Cris Fotou, he carried forward their values throughout his life.
Charles was a graduate of Grady High School and laid foundations for his entrepreneurial spirit through various ventures, including owning Seriously Leather from 1978 to 1981. His heart was dedicated not only to his profession but also to the community; he volunteered at Briarcliff Community Sports and the Hellenic Community Center, where he coached softball and football. A respected member of the Parish Council at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Annunciation, he gave generously of his time and spirit, especially during the Atlanta Greek Festival.
Surviving him are his beloved son, George Charles Economy; cherished daughter, Penelope Marie Economy; supportive brother, Dean Economy; caring sister, Pennie Economy, and a granddaughter, Alana Storm Walker. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews, who will carry forth his values and vibrant spirit.
To celebrate the remarkable life of Charles Economy, family and friends will gather in reverence and remembrance. On September 2, 2025, the journey will begin with a visitation at 10:00 AM, followed by a heartfelt funeral service at 11:00 AM, both held at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Annunciation. It is there, amidst the echoes of love and laughter, that we will share stories and find solace together.
Following the service, Charles will be laid to rest with dignity at Greenwood Cemetery, with burial scheduled for 12:30 PM. As we gather in remembrance, let us honor his life by cherishing the joyful moments and the boundless love he shared. In this time of reflection, we are called to celebrate the wonderful spirit of Charles Economy-a man whose legacy will forever illuminate the hearts of those who were privileged to know him.
