Charles Rogers Nelson

Mr. Charles Rogers Nelson, age 70 of Stone Mountain, passed away on Thursday, December 30, 2010. Mr. Nelson was a veteran of the United States Air Force, retired as a lieutenant after 30 years of service from the DeKalb County Police Department and retired as Chief of Police after 10 years of service from the Clarkston Police Department. He was a member of both the Georgia and International Associations of Chiefs of Police, as well as being a 32nd degree Scottish Rite member of the Yaarab Temple, and belonged to the Panthersville Masonic Lodge #543. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Rosemary Nelson; three daughters, Karen, Sharen and Angela; 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandson.
