Charles Alger Samuelson

Listen to Obituary

My brother was a handsome guy as a young man, really better looking of the two of us. With a deep love for all things Hollywood, he had an encyclopedic knowledge of the Oscars. One of our parlor tricks was to call him up and put him on speaker with a crowd of folks, and ask him questions like "who won best supporting actress in 1962?" He would recite winner, movie, director, and usually all of the awards it won. It was amazing. A little more about Charles "Casey" Samuelson...

Charles Alger Samuelson of Stone Mountain, GA, was born May 27, 1953, and passed away on March 27 of 2026, he was 72 years of age. Preceding him in death was his mother, Nell and father Howard Samuelson. Charles is survived by his brother John Samuelson and wife Jean, and cousins Janet Kawalski, Judy Spinney and Joanne Chandler, and their children and grandchildren.

Known by his family as "Casey," he completed his early education at Leslie J, Steele elementary school and Gordon High school in Decatur, Ga. Also Charles completed two years at Georgia State University in Atlanta. In his school years he played trumpet and became an exceptional baritone player.

After working for years as a dishwasher in the food service industry, he spent his final working years working for non-profit Project Open Hand in Atlanta, GA.

Charles was a sweet soul who loved people and would often try and help those less fortunate than himself. He was loved by his family, and he will be missed, but we take comfort to think of the reunion he is having with his parents now, especially his mother who loved him fiercely and was always his greatest advocate.

With all our love, Casey, may you rest in peace.
