Clarence Evans (Pinky) Glausier, Jr.

Clarence Evans "Pinky" Glausier, Jr., 94, passed away on Saturday, September 29, 2012. He was born September 29, 1918 in Pelham, GA. He was the son of Clarence Evans and Gladys Cardin Glausier. His early years were spent in Quitman, GA, after which he graduated from Emory Junior College in Valdosta. GA. He later graduated from Emory University, where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. He married the former Sarah Gray Rainey in Decatur, GA in 1942. He served as a Lt. j.g. in the U. S. Navy during World War II, and on the aircraft carrier USS Shamrock Bay in the Pacific Theater. At the conclusion of the War, Pinky returned home and graduated from pharmacy school at the Southern College of Pharmacy. He then spent the rest of his working career in various management positions at Abbott Laboratories in the Atlanta Distribution Center. The Glausiers were long time residents of Decatur. For over sixty years they attended Decatur Presbyterian Church, where Pinky served as a deacon and was a member of the choir. Pinky and Sarah had two children: Susan Glausier Armstrong (Paul) of Winston-Salem, NC and Col. (Ret.) C. Evans Glausier, III (Susan) of Shalimar, FL. He is survived by his children; grandchildren, Col. Lee Armstrong (Danni) of Scott AFB, IL, Charles Glausier and Travis Glausier of Tampa, FL and granddaughter, Christy Falvo (Curt) of Anchorage, AK. In addition, he is survived by five great grandchildren, three nieces and one nephew. A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 5, 2012, at 10 a. m., at Decatur Cemetery with Rev. Dr. Todd Speed officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Memorial Fund at Decatur Presbyterian Church, 205 Sycamore Street, Decatur, GA 30030. The family will receive friends after the graveside service. A. S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home and Crematory.
