Charles "Wes" Stuckey

Wes Stuckey passed away at his home on October 5th with his loving wife by his side. He was born in Valdosta, GA and he and his parents moved to Columbia, SC when he was young. At age 19, he left for Atlanta where he attended the Georgia Institute of Technology and received his BA degree in Industrial Engineering in 1957 and an MS in the same field in 1961. He was a proud member of Phi Kappa Sigma fraternity. He taught at Tech for several years and worked on NASA moon landing programs at Tech.

In 1970 he was named President of Adcor Electronics. With 4 employees when he took the job, the company grew to 134 employees in 1983, when he resigned rather than take it public as the Board of Directors wanted to go. He went to work at Delta Products, making gas starters for fireplaces. In his spare time, he invented a smoker for use on gas grills.

In 1986, he married Angie Stuckey, and they shared 39 years of love and good times. He enjoyed playing golf, strumming on his banjo and was an avid runner, running in most of the first Peachtree Road Races.

He was predeceased by his parents, Rachel Norvell Stuckey and Clarence Wesley Stuckey II and two sons-in-law, John M. Lee and Michael Klinger.

He is survived by his wife, Angie K. Stuckey; sister-in-law, Julia M. King; Children and their spouses: Cindy Askounis (Gust), Diane M. Stuckey,

Meg Klinger and Wes Stuckey (Leah); Grandchildren: Christopher Askounis (Aysha), Matthew Askounis (Erin), Watson Stuckey, Reese Stuckey, Tyler Klinger and Chase Klinger and great grandson, Benjamin A. Askounis.

Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, October 13th at 11 am with visitation at 10:30 am at AS Turner & Sons Funeral Home.
