Saturday morning, November 9, 2024, Darrell Harman took his last breath this side of Heaven, surrounded by his family and friends. He was born March 26, 1966, in Indianapolis IN to Mary Harman and the late Harold Flynn. He graduated from South Putnam High School in 1984 and later received his bachelor's degree from Georgia Gwinnett College. He was employed in the building products industry for most of his adult life.
Darrell is survived by his wife of 31 years, Mary Kay Brecht, their two children Daniel and Emma of Lilburn GA, his mother, Mary Harman, of Plainfield IN, his sisters: Chris Harman (John) of Supply NC, Connie Harman of Stokesdale NC, Terri Haddock (Dave) of Shallotte NC, and brother Rick Harman (Tracy) of Killeen TX, and in-laws: Lois Brecht (mother-in-law), Tom & Camille Brecht, Michael & Linda Rock; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, Harold Flynn and brother, Michael Harman.
Darrell loved the Lord, worked hard, and was involved in church as a deacon, Sunday School teacher, Youth Chaperone, Small Group Leader, Basketball and Softball coach. He loved his family and friends with all his heart and provided well for us all. He was well loved by his family, community, and church; to say he will be greatly missed is an understatement.
A Celebration of Darrell's life will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at Yellow River Baptist Church, 3650 Five Forks Trickum Rd, Lilburn GA 30047. The family will receive visitors beginning at 2:00 and the service will begin at 3:00pm with a reception to follow in the Fellowship Hall.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the missions fund at Yellow River Baptist Church, 3650 Five Forks Trickum Rd, Lilburn GA 30047.
A.S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home and Crematory, 2773 N. Decatur Rd, Decatur GA, is in charge of arrangements.
