David Jordan,91, of Atlanta, GA, died on November 13, 2024. He grew up in rural Western New York state and enjoyed raising cows and poultry.
He graduated from Alfred University in 1955 with a BA in chemistry. He served in the Army from 1956-1958 playing clarinet with the Third Army Band at Fort McPherson. He worked for the Food and Drug Administration for 43 years analyzing drugs and food for tampering. He was a solitary person who in fact loved playing solitaire and keeping meticulous records of his scores. He was an avid runner and lover of music. He struggled with mental health issues throughout his life that affected his ability to be present with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Jean Jordan, and his sister, Erma Marsh.
A celebration of life memorial service will be held at his longtime church, Peachtree Baptist Church, 2108 Briarcliff Rd NE, Atlanta, GA 30329, on Dec 14 at 2:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI).
