David Lautenschlager, a gentle soul with a heart as big as the lake he loved to fish, passed away on May 25, 2025, at the age of 56. Born on February 22, 1969, in Montgomery, Alabama, David made his home in Buckhead, Atlanta. Known for his kindness, thoughtfulness, and genuinely loving nature, David had a way of making everyone feel special and cared for.
David is the son of Shellie Lautenschlager, mother, and Wayne Lautenschlager, father (deceased). He has one brother, Kenny Lautenschlager (wife Phyllis). David's goodness was evident in every interaction, whether he was bonding with children, who adored his playful spirit, or animals, who seemed to understand his gentle heart. He has a large extended family that feels his absence deeply. This includes Todd and Amy Lautenschlager, his beloved nephew and niece; stepbrothers Tony and Mike Harris; stepmother Linda Lautenschlager; stepsisters Ginger and Stephanie Rutherford; and stepmother Becky Rutherford. Each of them holds dear the countless ways David touched their lives with his genuine loving nature.
Join us for a celebration of David's life on June 14, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Hudson's Grille Sandy Springs, located at 6317 Roswell Road, Atlanta. It will be a time to share stories, laughter, and love, just as David would have wanted.
David's passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew him, but his legacy of love and kindness endures.
