David Eduard Wijnberg passed away peacefully on 23 November 2025 in Atlanta, Georgia, surrounded by his loving family. Born on 15 December 1944 in Cardiff, UK, and raised in the Netherlands, David, known as Ed by family and friends, lived a life rich in loyalty, curiosity, and quiet strength.

For 61 years, David was the beloved husband of Marceline Wijnberg (née van Bol'es Rijnbende), with whom he built a home filled with warmth, laughter, and unwavering partnership. Together, they raised three children (Philine, Arnoud, and Jesse) who were the pride of his life. His legacy continues through his eight grandchildren, each of whom brought him immense joy. His guidance, dry humor, and unfaltering skepticism were constants within his family, shaping the lives of those who knew and loved him.

Originally trained as an offset printer, after graduating from college he travelled extensively in North and South America early in his career while working in different industries. Later David successfully founded several enterprises, including a flower wholesale company and a logistics business. Yet beyond his professional accomplishments, it was his personal passions that occupied his days. In his youth he was a keen motorsports enthusiast and could regularly be found at the Grand Prix circuit in Zandvoort, the Netherlands. As he grew older he loved the simple ritual of baking bread, watching Arsenal matches, and the comfort of immersing himself in the novels of Robert Harris. Jazz music was always a part of his life, its defiant rhythms providing the soundtrack to his questioning nature.

David will be remembered for his generosity, his gentle wisdom, and the kindness he extended to everyone around him. His presence made life fuller and leaves behind a family united by his love and a legacy of integrity, warmth, and joy.

He will be deeply missed and may his memory be a blessing.
