Diane W. Norris

Diane Wynne Norris was born on June 11, 1943 and passed away on May 19, 2026, at the age of 82. Born in Ridgeland, South Carolina, Diane and her family moved to Atlanta, Georgia when she was about nine years old. She graduated from Druid Hills High School and later attended college at the University of Kentucky, University of Georgia, and a local college in Atlanta.

Diane's primary hobby was reading and rereading the many books she obtained either from the library or which she bought and kept. Among her favorite books were those about animals. She loved animals in general, particularly cats, dogs and horses, and enjoyed having cats and dogs as pets.

Throughout her life Diane was known for her deep integrity and strong-willed nature. She was committed to preciseness as well as attention to detail and as a result, she excelled in her work for several insurance companies, including Traveler's Insurance.

She is preceded in death by her parents, H. Ray Wynne and Carolyne Taylor Wynne; and her brother, Steven Duane Wynne. Survivors include her daughter, Heather (James) Ricard; grandson, Rylan Ricard; sister Terry Wynne; and niece, Mary Rachel Stine.

Her family will miss her but will remember her with love. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a no-kill animal shelter.
