Dona Barrett Ansley passed away July 6, 2026, at age 92. She was born in Kansas City, Missouri on November 22, 1933, to Ardyth and Howard K. Barrett.
The family moved to Decatur, Georgia where she graduated from the last class of Decatur Girls' High. Dona was a graduate of the University of Georgia where she was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority and continued to be an avid Georgia Bulldog fan all her life. She married her high school sweetheart, Wiley S. Ansley III. She was a past president of the DeKalb Junior League, a member of the Rose Garden Club, and a member of Peachtree Presbyterian Church. One of her favorite memberships was that of the "Sunshine Girls". The group consisted of high school friends who played bridge and traveled together. The "Sunshine Girls" loved spending time at Dona's home on Fernandina Beach.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Wiley S. Ansley and her brother Thomas J. Barrett. She is survived by her three daughters, Gail Aldridge (Darryl), Sally Woodall (Oran) and Amy Keena, her grandchildren Darryl Aldridge, Jr. (Morgan), Ansley Towles (David), Ben Woodall (Kara), Dessie Stowe (Jordan), Somer Hardin (Noel), Jim Keena, Kyle Keena, Axel Keena, Kurt Keena and Kelly Keena as well as eleven great grandchildren.
