Donald Albert Brannen

Donald (Don) Albert Brannen passed away on December 23, 2014. A life-long resident of DeKalb County, Georgia, he was born on December 3, 1926. He was the youngest child of Jesse E. Brannen and Cecilia Voorhis. He lived a full life and is survived by his loving wife of more than 63 years, Jewell Williams Brannen, his only son, Donald Albert (Bert) Brannen, Jr. and three grandchildren, Donald Albert (Bo) Brannen, III, Robert Harrison Brannen and Benjamin Massey Brannen. Don graduated from Georgia Military Academy and attended the University of Georgia. He served in the Georgia National Guard and was a retail tire salesman for George Boyd and Sons Tires for more than 35 years. He loved Briarcliff United Methodist Church where he passionately served as Usher Captain, greeter and a Board Member for many years. Visitation will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at Briarcliff United Methodist Church in Atlanta, followed by a memorial service at 2:00 PM and a private graveside service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Briarcliff United Methodist Church.
