Doris Joan Holloway

Violist and church organist Doris Alderman Holloway, 79, died June 18, 2013 following a year-long battle with cancer. Born in Kansas, Doris moved to Georgia from California when she accepted a position with the Atlanta Symphony following her freshman year at San Diego State. After completing her graduate work at the University of Illinois, she taught at Georgia State and then Clayton State University, where she chaired the Music Dept. In retirement, Doris continued as organist at Mary Branan UMC. She loved working in her garden and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Doris is survived by her husband Homer, her children Lenora and Richard, and 4 grandchildren.
