Dorothy Minette Carr-Toney

Dorothy Minette Carr-Toney, age 92, of Atlanta, GA passed away at Peachtree Christian Hospice on May 20, 2017. Dorothy was born on April 22, 1925 in Port Byron, NY. She graduated from Port Byron Central School in 1943 and subsequently attended nursing school in Auburn, NY. Dorothy spent much of her adult life in the communities of Oswego and Minetto, NY. She spent her final working years at the Atlanta law firm of Troutman Sanders where she retired at the age of 78. She especially loved her dogs and cats and was a supporter of the Humane Society. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Bernice Carr. She is survived by her brother Richard, three children, Joanne Taylor (Matt) of Decatur, GA; Marilyn Cooler (James); of Beaufort, SC and Richard Shannon (Nancy) of Decatur, GA. Grandmother to five grandchildren and great-grandmother of four. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and their families. Her ashes will be interned at Pine Hill Cemetery in Throop, NY at a date to be determined.
