Dorthea (Dot) Swann Markert

Dorthea (Dot) S. Markert, age 80 of Tucker, GA passed away on October 27, 2011. She was preceded in death by her husband, James B. Markert. She is survived by her son, James B. Markert, Jr. of Tucker, GA; sisters, Patty (David) McReynolds of Rome, GA and Betty (Wesley) Price of Maxey, GA. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Robert (Diane) Stubbs and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She retired from Agnes Scott College after 30 years of service. A graveside service will be held Saturday, October 29, 2011 at 10:00 AM at Westview Cemetery with Chaplain Kate Colussy-Estes officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Markert Scholarship Fund at Agnes Scott College, 141 East College Ave., Decatur, GA 30030. The family will receive friends this evening (Friday) from 6 to 8 PM at A.S. Turner & Sons.
