Elizabeth K Myers

Passed away peacefully on May 9, 2026, surrounded by family.

She was born on August 29, 1937, in Avondale, Georgia. Raised by parents of the post-Depression era, she carried with her a lifelong sense of resilience, humility, quiet pride, and appreciation for simplicity. She was known for her sense of humor, her independence, and her ability to persevere through life's challenges.

She devoted many years to her family as a mother and homemaker before later beginning a career with Southern Bell as an administrative assistant. Her work reflected the same quiet determination, independence, and resilience that defined the way she lived her life.

Later in life, she found her greatest companion in Richard "Dick" Myers, the love of her life and her partner in adventure. Together, they became Life Masters in bridge and traveled extensively, visiting more than 70 countries. Their shared love of travel, competition, and companionship created a chapter of life filled with joy, laughter, and lasting memories.

She is survived by her children, Cathy, David (Sharon), and Wayne (Alex); her grandchildren, Matt, Lily, Audrey, JD, Robert, and Georgia Gail; her great-granddaughter, Mackenzie; and her older sister, Joanne. She was preceded in death by her two younger brothers, Bud and Benji, and her granddaughter, Samantha, who remained close to her heart.

The family extends their gratitude to the caregivers and hospice team who ensured her comfort and dignity in her final days.

A graveside service will be held Saturday May 16, 2026, 11:00 AM at Melwood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Decatur Presbyterian Church.

She will be remembered for her resilience, her sense of humor, and the simple, steadyway she moved through life with quiet confidence and grace.
