Evelyn Whigham Barclay

Evelyn Whigham Barclay 82, of Jefferson, GA passed away on Thursday August 18, 2011 at St. Mary's Hospice House in Bogart, GA. She was born in Decatur, GA on March 6, 1929 to Lelia Mitchell Nash and William Henry Nash. She lived most of her life in Tucker and Decatur, GA until 2007 when she relocated to Jefferson, GA. She is survived by her sons John Whigham of Gillsville and Edward Whigham and his wife Sheree of Jefferson, GA; Grandchildren; Jeremy and Danielle Whigham of Dacula, Joseph Whigham and Brandon Whigham of Braselton; Kerry Whigham and Tibi Gallis of New York, NY, Zach Whigham of Suwanee, GA, Kacie and Steve deLeon of Savannah, GA; Great Grandaughter Lacey Whigham of Gainesville, GA. She is also survived by siblings; Pearl Davis of Flowery Branch, GA , Bernice and John Griffin of Flowery Branch, GA Douglas and Mary Nash of Lawrenceville, GA ; sister in laws, June Nash and Pat Nash, both of Tucker and Sybil Nash of Flowery Branch, GA, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Raymond Nash and JD Nash, both of Tucker and William (Bill) Nash of Flowery Branch. She operated an accomplished hairdressers business in Decatur for 25+ years. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Mary's Hospice House in Bogart, GA. Funeral services celebrating her life will be held in the chapel of A.S. Turner & Sons on Saturday August 20, 2011 at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at A.S. Turner & Sons.
