Everett D. Childers, Sr.

Mr. Everett D. Childers, Sr., 94, a native of Holly Springs, GA, died on Friday, December 25, 2009. A member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church, he was a veteran of World War II serving proudly in the U. S. Army. Mr. Childers was a retired MARTA Bus Operator, retiring after 35 years of service. Preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn P. Childers, surviving are his sons, Troy Childers and his wife, Louise, Dan Childers, both of Brevard, NC; 2 granddaughters; 3 great grandsons; 2 great granddaughters; sister, Martha Harden of Marietta, brother, Bud Childers and his wife Betty of Holly Springs, GA. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, December 28th in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons. Interment Oak Grove Methodist Church Cemetery at 2:15 pm. Friends are invited to visit with the family Sunday from 4 - 6 pm at A. S. Turner & Sons.
