Faye Carroll Hardy, age 87, of Tucker, GA passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday May 10, 2012. She was born to the late John and Kate Carroll on April 5, 1925 in Lake Park, GA. As a young girl, her family moved to Valdosta where she attended Valdosta High School and was a Wildcat Cheerleader. During World War II, Faye worked for Western Union in San Francisco and Chicago. After the war, she married her high school sweetheart and life-long love, the late Dr. Jesse Charles Hardy. Together, they raised their three children in Tucker. Faye dedicated her life to her family and the happiness of others. She was an active member of the First Methodist Church of Tucker and retired from Gulf Oil after many years of dedicated service.
Faye is survived by sons Mike Hardy of Atlanta and Scott & Sharon Hardy of Philadelphia. Also surviving are grandchildren Trey Taylor of Dublin, GA; Ethan, Jordan, and Nyla Hardy of Swanee, GA; Tessah, Emerson, and Caden Hardy of Philadelphia, PA; and great-grandson Will Taylor of Dublin, GA. She is preceded in death by her husband Dr. Jesse Charles "Bill" Hardy of Tucker, GA; daughter Brooke Taylor of Waynesboro, GA; and sister Terry D'Arcy of Palm Beach, FL. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 14th at A.S. Turner & Sons in Decatur, Ga. The family will receive friends at 1:00 pm prior to the memorial service.
