Gayle Dean Toney, 88, passed away on November 21, 2025, in Grayson, GA. She was the beloved wife of Jim Toney. They shared 69 cherished years together.
Born in Atlanta, Ga., on March 25, 1937, she was the daughter of Henry Nelson Dean and Johnnie Dean. Gayle graduated Decatur High School and attended Emory University.
She was a member of Snellville United Methodist Church where she volunteered for many years in the Flower Guild. She also volunteered at the Button Gwinnett Hospital in Lawrenceville.
She was a devoted wife and mother of three children. She enjoyed time with her family. She loved the weekly cookie day with her grandchildren and lived to enjoy visits with her great grandchildren. She loved riding her horses and caring for her many pets. She enjoyed reading, weekend drives, and visiting antique shops.
She will be remembered for her caring spirit and delightful sense of humor.
Gayle is survived by her husband, Jim Toney; her children, Mike Toney (Monica), Michelle Reagan (Rick), Jeff Toney (Tina); grandchildren, Mark Toney, Jonathan Reagan (Michelle), Emily Shook (Donavan), Rachel Hadden (Mark), Preston Toney (Josie); great-grandchildren, Garrison and Adelaide Hadden.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation made in memory of Gayle Toney to the Alzheimer's Association Georgia Chapter (alz.org/georgia).
