George H. Smith, Jr.

George H. "Skipper" Smith, Jr., 62, a native of Atlanta, died Wednesday, June 6, 2007 following complications from surgery. He is survived by his widow, Cheryll; a sister, Jane Boyd Sams; two daughters, Elizabeth Smith and Michelle Duckett; and a grandson, Michael Garofalo. Skipper attended Grady High School and was a graduate of Georgia State University, where he was a member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity. He retired from the Georgia Institute of Technology after twenty-five years of service as an accountant. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Sunday, June 10, 2007 at A. S .Turner and Sons in Decatur. The family will receive friends beginning at noon. A graveside service will be held at Crest Lawn Memorial Park immediately following the funeral service.
