George Kellermann Routhe

Mr. George K. Routhe, 93, born April 3, 1921 in Copenhagen, Denmark died June 19, 2014 in Decatur, Georgia. After traveling throughout Europe, the Caribbean and Canada, he became a US citizen in the early 60's. He remained proud of his Danish heritage and his time serving his homeland as a Lieutenant in the Gardehusarregimentet (Royal Danish Cavalry). After his military service, George enjoyed a career as an industrial engineer in the textile industry in Europe and the States. He lived a life of adventure, was extremely athletic and enjoyed running around Stone Mt into his 70's. He is survived by his devoted wife, Martha McCart Routhe, daughter and son-in-law, Maggie and Robert Jett of Atlanta and extended family in Denmark. He will be fondly remembered for his sense of humor and his desire to bring a laugh or a smile to everyone he met.
