Gilbert Davis

Gilbert Davis, 66, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 30 at his home in Atlanta, Georgia. Gilbert was a devoted husband and father and a respected securities attorney who was admired by his peers. He had a passion for learning and a generous spirit.

Gilbert was born in 1958 in Enid, Oklahoma and moved often in a military family. He called Wichita, Kansas his hometown. He graduated from Yale University in 1981 with degrees in history and economics and got his law degree from New York University.

He is preceded in death by his father Yale Davis Jr. and step-father Phillip Knighton. Gilbert is survived by his wife, Julie Davis, his children, Yale, Andrea, and Hope, and daughter-in-law Thainara as well as his mother, Billie Knighton, sisters Andrea Knighton and Erica Zurita, and his nieces and nephews.

His family will hold a celebration of life at 1 p.m. on Saturday, February 22 at Briarlake Church, 3715 Lavista Rd, Decatur, GA 30033. A reception will follow.
