Our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Mary Grace Gresham Flowers of Lilburn, Georgia, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on January 23, 2026, at 91 years of age.
Grace was born on June 15, 1934 in Dekalb County, Georgia. She was a strong matriarch and the heart of her home and family. Her passions were gardening, genealogy, and history. Her family will always remember her extensive garden with its beautiful flowers, most notably her variety of beautiful hydrangeas that surrounded her yard. We were always guaranteed a tour of her gardens at every visit. She maintained many heirloom flowers (some 70+ years old) grown from cuttings gathered from many older family members. When she took on her married name of Flowers, she meant it literally!
She demonstrated amazing abilities in her passion of genealogy and history. She published two books of her family and one book of the Flowers family that not only documented their genealogy but provided detailed stories and events over the many generations. She consulted often with various historical societies sharing her extensive knowledge of history, particularly about Tucker Georgia. She was often asked to come speak at various historical society gatherings. Her historical information was highly beneficial in the establishment of Briarlake Park, located on the property where she was born and grew up on.
Throughout her years, she enjoyed many church friends and fun gatherings as a long-time member of Lilburn First Baptist Church.
She was the daughter of Bertha Pylant Gresham Truelove and Otis Gresham. She is predeceased by her husband, Fred Allen Flowers, brother Billy Gresham, and daughter-in-law, Lynn Flowers. She is survived by her three sons Fred Allen Flowers Jr. (Gail), Robert Flowers (Kathy), Donald Flowers, nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
