Harold Lee Patrick

Harold Lee Patrick, aka Pat, lovingly known as Pete passed away March 29th at the age of 85. Pete was a native Atlantan. He attended Roosevelt Hight School, class of 1955. He served in the Air Force during the Cuban crisis. Pete retired after 32 years working for Delta Airlines as a computer operator.

Pete enjoyed being a member of the Decatur First United Methodist Church where he was in the choir and performed in plays. He was awarded a DeKalb County Life Time PTA membership for the work he did with Medlock School where his children attended. At Medlock he would sit in the dunking tank every field day and was known as "the King of the water tank". The children loved him. He was also a big part of the Druid Hills High School football booster club. Pete was president of the Atlanta Specialty Dog Club for several years and helped put on shows where hundreds of dogs competed.

Volunteering was a big part of his life. He was on a volunteer team at Delta. The team served many charities and causes on behalf of Delta. He worked with Meals on Wheels, particularly during the AIDs crises, by preparing and delivering meals to the ill. He had been a member of the Lions Club working to provide glasses for the sight impaired. He loved to work in the pantry of the Decatur Emergency Aide Ministry (DEAM). For several years he picked up and delivered the fresh bread and milk three days a week. He also loved stocking the shelves with the donated groceries. He liked for it to be efficiently organized for those helpers who filled the orders from the less fortunate.

Pete is survived by his wife of 57 years, Wendy, his daughter Dana and husband Lorand Parenteau, son Shannon and wife Eileen, grandsons Gabe and Milo, and daughter Amy Jo and her partner Jason Carnagey and grandson Lee.

There will be a funeral service on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at 11am in the chapel of A.S. Turner and Son. There will be a visitation an hour prior. The interment will follow the service at Westview Cemetery
