Harriet Burnett

Harriet Cantrell Burnett,87, of Clarkston, GA was born in Atlanta, GA on March 02, 1938 to Ernest and Jimmie Cantrell. She attended Sylvan High School and graduated from Vanderbilt University with a Bachelor of Arts degree. She was an elementary school teacher in Atlanta when she met Lewis Joel Burnett Sr and they married on August 19, 1961, and raised three sons.
Later in life she worked as a dental office manager for Dr. Robert Kleiner for approximately 20 years and he credits her with helping to make a very successful business. She retired in August of 2011. Harriet shared her home with first cousin Martha Francis Cantrell for the last 40 years. Harriet was a passionate bridge player and made many very dear friends that played as well. She enjoyed playing the piano, gaming on her IPAD and cooking wonderful meals for friends and family.

Harriet passed away at home on December 05, 2025 with her family close by. Harriet is survived by her sons; Lewis Joel Burnett Jr. (Mike Tolley) of Clarkston, GA, Brian Christopher Burnett (Michael Hill) of East Point, GA, and James Ernest Burnett Sr. (Tara) of Bartlett, TN. Harriet was the proud grandmother to James Ernest Burnett Jr. and Ashley Burnett Raley (John) both of Millington, TN. She was proud to welcome her first great grandchild Judah Raley two years ago.
She is preceded in death by her sister Jane Cantrell Lindsey.
