With his loving family at his side, Harry Kozicki, age 97, passed away at his home in Atlanta, Monday September 19, 2022.
Harry was born July 13, 1925, in New York City, where he graduated from Theodore Roosevelt High School. After a distinguished term of military service during World War II, he returned to New York to continue his education earning a Bachelor of Engineering from Pratt Institute followed by a Master of Engineering from Stevens Institute.
During the Second World War, Harry served as a radio operator and mechanical gunner. As a member of the United States Eighth Army Air Force (8 AAF) B-17 Flying Fortress crew, he flew in Allied missions over central Europe. Sergeant Harry Kozicki was a member of the 379th Bombardment Group in the 525th Bomb Squadron and decorated with the American Theater Service Medal and the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal, as well as other notable certifications, prior to his honorable discharge in 1946.
Harry had a long and successful career beginning with the Radio Corporation of America (RCA) and later retiring from EEV, Inc of England. As a top Sales Engineer, these organizations gave him the opportunity to travel both domestically and abroad and allowed him to work with the latest technologies of the time. Harry would often include his family on business trips so they could create enjoyable memories. Harry was truly an engineer at heart. He enjoyed all facets of technology and was interested in new developments of technology his entire life.
Harry and his wife Jennie met in New York City, where they married in 1952. They later relocated to Atlanta where they lived for 50 years and raised four sons. Harry and Jennie are long standing members of St. Elias Antiochian Orthodox Church.
Harry is preceded in death by his grandson Jeffrey Kozicki, and is survived by Jennie, his loving and caring wife of 70 years. Immediate family members are Son Keith and his Wife Leslie and Grandson Michael; Son Richard and his Wife Maria and Grandsons Alec, residing in Estonia and Nicholas; Son Douglas and his Wife Beverly and Grandson Brandon; Son Robert and his Wife Lisa and Grandson Connor and Granddaughter Sarah.
Funeral Services for Harry will be held Thursday, September 22 at Saint Elias Antiochian Orthodox Church, beginning with visitation at 10:00 AM, followed by the service at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place Friday, September 23rd at 10:30 AM at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA.
