Howard M. Taft

Mr. Howard M. Taft, Sr., age 86, of Lawrenceville died Saturday, February 12, 2005.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Atlanta and retired after 35 years as credit manager with Gulf Oil Company.  Mr. Taft was a graduate of Atlanta Law School and a member of the Georgia State Bar Association since 1981.  He was also a member of The Georgia Lodge #96 F & AM.  He is survived by his daughter, Cynthia Rea Montgomery and her husband, Harold of Hampton, GA; son Mason Taft and his wife, Vonda of Loganville, GA; sister, Jackie Greer of Chamblee, GA; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 15th with Rev. Danny M. Brett officiating.  Interment will follow at Melwood Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Monday evening at A. S. Turner & Sons.
