Irene Carne

Irene Carne, 85, of Stone Mountain died in her sleep on May 16, 2007.  She and her late husband Vernon were charter members of Belvedere United Methodist Church where she remained active until her health precluded her from attending regularly.  She is survived by her two sons, Vernon and Dick; grandchildren, Jason and Eric, sons of Vernon and Linda; Cynthia, Natalie and Andrew, children of Dick and Jane; great-grandchildren, Emily and Madison, daughters of Eric; sisters, Cathryn Cook and Carolyn Elrod.  The funeral service will be Friday, May 18, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at Belvedere United Methodist Church with Rev. Jack Harwell officiating.  She will be placed in state at the church at 12:30 p.m. Interment will follow at Sparta Cemetery in Sparta, Ga.  The family will receive friends Thursday 6-8 pm at A.S.
