Irene Salmon Fahey

Irene Salmon Fahey, 90, passed away Thursday evening March 22nd at Abbey Hospice Care in Social Circle, Ga. She was born on February 13th , 1923 in Livia, Kentucky and raised in Owensboro, Kentucky. After graduating from high school and attending community college she worked for Boy Scouts of America in Owensboro, Kentucky and Atlanta, Ga for many years until retirement where she remained an avid Kentucky Wildcats fan. Irene Salmon Fahey was the daughter of the late Nina Mae Salmon and William Everett Salmon. She was predeceased by her husband, Frank Fahey, two sisters, Ann Truman Northern and Virginia May Stinson, and one brother, William Everett Salmon Jr. She is survived by her sister, Lucille Salmon Venters of Wilmington, North Carolina and loving nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Monday March, 26th 2012 at 3:00 pm at Turner Funeral Home in Decatur, Ga. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Abbey Hospice Care in Social Circle, Ga or the charity of one's choice.
