James Steven McGhee

James Steven McGhee, age 61, passed away on September 19, 2026, in Atlanta, Georgia. He was born on January 28, 1965, to Jane and Clyde McGhee.

Steven was truly one of a kind. He had a quick wit, a wonderful sense of humor, and always seemed to be laughing. He loved entertaining in his home, where friends and family could gather, share stories, laugh, and simply enjoy being together. Steven was a good friend with a generous spirit, and those who knew him will remember the laughter and warmth he brought into their lives.

Steven had a very special love for his mother, Jane. Their bond was deeply meaningful to him, and his love for her was evident to everyone who knew him.

Steven was also a talented and creative person who enjoyed making crafts. He had a gift for creating things with his hands and took great pleasure in sharing his creativity with others. His two beloved dogs, Minnie Bell and Arlo, were also an important part of his life and brought him much happiness and companionship.

Steven is survived by his beloved mother, Jane McGhee; his brother, John McGhee; his sister-in-law, Lisa McGhee; five nieces; one nephew; and many dear friends and loved ones.

He was preceded in death by his longtime partner and husband, Craig Gillikin; his father, Clyde McGhee; and his brother, Anthony McGhee.

Steven leaves behind countless memories filled with laughter, friendship, creativity, and love. His quick wit and ability to make even the simplest moments fun will never be forgotten. He touched the lives of many, and his presence will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.

Though Steven is no longer with us, the laughter he shared, the friendships he cherished, and the love he had for his family will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
